Background Information

Oscillator

This device is used to pulse DC(Direct Current) to create AC(Alternating Current) drive. In this project we will be using an Arduino to create an oscillator. The following program was created to do this:


Coiling Wire

When wire is coiled together it will create a magnetic field around the coil. This will pull electrons in surrounding wires and may generate electricity.


Wireless Power Transfer(WPT) Methods

Inductive coupling - This is a method of transferring energy through the air by pulsing a coil in different directions and a coil parallel will pick it up and follow its movement wich will create AC.



Capacitive coupling - This WPT is when two wires are running next to each other through metal tubes. If one is powered its magnetic field will carry over to the other wire and move its electrons creating AC.



Magnetodynamic coupling - When a magnet is moved next to a coil of wire it will move its electrons up and down creating AC.



Rectifier

This is used to convert AC into DC. This will not be built in this project due to most phones having them already built in.
